BIO
Born in 1982, Candace Culcleasure (kull-KLEH-shur) has been singing and writing songs since the age of 5.
Raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she currently resides in Delaware.
Candace is a soulful, jazz singer in the style of Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole, and Lizz Wright.
Candace is from a musical family but fell in love with jazz while studying classical music at Florida State University. Under the tutelage of jazz vocalist Inga Swearingen, Candace learned how to improvise and discover her unique sound. Candace has performed all over the world, on tours, cruise ships, cabarets, and regional theatres. Even performing solo at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for 16,000 people. She recently toured with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame group The Platters.
Through life Candace has always dreamed of creating her own music. As her birthday approached Candace decided to celebrate her life and positive self-love by recording an original song Still Cute. This song was followed by her latest single Walk Away. Life is too short to be anyone other than yourself. Let’s celebrate!
